Concert in Sarajevo – Assoc. for the Study of the Persianate Societies
Sepideh Raissadat has been invited by the Association for the Study of Persianate Societies for the performance of an evening of Persian classical music in Sarajevo, Bosnia Herzegovina. The concert will be held on 5 September 2013 as part of the closing ceremony of the 4-day conference. Sepideh will be accompanied by Tar-virtuoso and composer, Iman Vaziri, as well as by Percussionist Pasha Karami.
Notes from the Press Release : The Conference will be an historic event in which scholars from over 20 countries, as well as some of the most prestigious academic institutions from Asia, Europe and North America, will be participating. In collaboration with our academic partners in Sarajevo, ASPS/SARAJEVO 2013 will host 46 panels and close to 250 participants. Besides a rich array of scholarly papers, the Conference will include exhibitions of some of the most unique, early modern Persian manuscripts, from amongst thousands, which are being held at the main libraries of Sarajevo, a calligraphic exhibition, and a book exhibit. The ASPS will also have the honor of paying Tribute to the leading fiction-writer of 20th and 21st century Iran, Mr. Mahmoud Dowlatabadi, in a night of celebration where Professor Ahmad Karimi-Hakkak will function as the Master of Ceremonies, and Ms. Ariana Barkeshli will perform the piano. ASPS/SARAJEVO 2013 will also have the honor of hosting the Persian classical vocalist and musician, Ms. Sepideh Rais Sadat, and her ensemble, in the Conference. We have an exciting Conference planned, and we are hereby cordially inviting the Iranian media to partake in this unique gathering of scholars and artists, in what promises to be a historic conference in Persianate studies.
